The Sandgate site on Sandylands Road was originally built in the 1970’s and has been considerably improved and extended since then. It consists of five classrooms, dedicated rooms for ICT, music, food technology, numeracy and literacy, sensory work,a library/meeting room and a sensory studio. There is also outdoor play space for both younger and older pupils, including a sensory garden and a ball court for football. The hall is used for lunch, P.E and assembly. The Sandgate hydrotherapy pool, whilst not belonging to the school, is utilised to provide weekly swimming and therapy sessions.

The Sandgate at QKS site has two large classrooms, a double size independent living space. And two additional 'stand-alone' teaching areas. These provide a 'campus within a campus' feel to both maximise pupil independence, but also create security within familiar routes and pathways. Fully adapted toilet spaces, a discrete playground, and a shared drama/physio space complete the provision. However, the range of facilities across this large secondary school are available to our pupils, and lessons are held in the design and technology rooms, the dance studio, P.E. hall and outdoor P.E. areas. Lunch is eaten in the upper school canteen area with QKS students and staff.
