Glaramara

Glaramara is a semiformal, Key Stage 3 class within the SEAS pathway. The approach in Glaramara is active, hands-on, holistic and pupil centered. We use continuous provision and active learning approaches, coupled with work within our local community.

The main learning focus is our personalised curriculum, whereby we look at functional skills for life. We use the pupil passport as the initial planning tool, and we then plan our learning from this starting point. Students work within their own Personal Progression Pathways through Individual Education Plans and via themed work which is at the centre of their curriculum.

We follow the Sandgate Curriculum, adapted from the national curriculum, it is thematic and provides one of our vehicles for learning. Our learning journey takes us to reach our potential, as we focus on our own area to excel within.

These areas help us become good communicators in school and our wider world, mutual and self-regulation, communication, personal care, friendships, fun, transitions and community.
