Haystacks

Haystacks class is a key stage 3, LAKES pathway classes. Students follow the National Curriculum which is adapted to meet the students' individual needs and delivered through engaging themes. We enjoy working with and sharing our work with the wider community- Lions Charity, Comic Arts festival, Torchlight to name a few!

The three focal points of our curriculum are ‘Education and Skills’, ‘Academic and Knowledge’ and ‘Living’ which help prepare our young people for adulthood. Students are given the opportunity to apply their learning through practical, functional activities such as travel training; planning, shopping and cooking a meal to share with their friends as well as managing the class budget!

Haystacks students are often seen out in the community, embedding their learning and developing their social and communication skills, whatever the weather!
