Meadows

MEADOWS stands for Movement, Engagement, Acceptance, Differentiated Curriculum, Observation, Wider Community and Sensory Experience.

At Sandgate we provide an individualised, motivating, and exciting timetable to deliver our personalised curriculum. Our curriculum is centred around: Physical development, Communication and Cognition.

The MEADOWS curriculum is for pupils who cannot access subject specific study and are operating at below P4. Assessment is through The Engagement Model and EHCP outcomes. Staff can expertly observe, review and plan personalised learning opportunities.

Our curriculum includes opportunities in: Multi-sensory story, TAC PAC, Onbody signing, Sensology, Physio therapy, Hydro therapy, Various switching session to promote independence, Community visits, Time to talk - using Eye Gaze or other AAC device, Intensive interaction, MOVE, MATP and Creative Development (Art, Design and Technology, Music).

We have exciting new technology to be used in SEAS and MEADOWS classes.

New resources include accessible screens for group work, switching work and music time, Interactive OMI devices – an interactive portable projector. Sensory Trolley – to bring the sensory room to you. Groups can use the trolley within their classrooms to reduce difficult transitions across school. State of the art new build – including Sensory room with full switch capability, full ceiling tracking, rebound therapy and sensory swing.
