Post 16 Class Teacher

Responsible for: The teaching, learning, progress and wellbeing of students within the allocated Post 16 class

Contract: Part-time 0.4, permanent

Salary: Main Teachers’ Pay Scale + SEN1 allowance 

Job Share: This post will form part of a job-share arrangement with an experienced Post 16 SEND teacher within the established Post 16 team.

Clerk to Governors (Level 2) 

Part time – 4 hours per week, 156 hours per year

BS5 – £25,989 per annum -pro rata for part time and term time only working (£13.47 per hour)

Sandgate is a two site special school for children and young people between the ages of 3-19 years. Sandgate takes pride in fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment for students with severe learning difficulties. To fulfil the vision we aim to develop every child’s personality, abilities and talents to the full, to be the best they can be.

From September, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised Clerk to the Governors who will provide administrative support and guidance to our School Governing Body.

The successful applicant will advise the Governing Board on governance, procedural, and constitutional matters, oversee membership, organise and minute meetings, maintain accurate records, and manage information in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice. 

They must be dependable and adaptable and able to attend Governing Board and committee meetings held in term time during and at the end of the school day. We welcome applications from candidates who can communicate effectively in a range of formats and be familiar with relevant ICT programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

The post requires attendance at our half termly meetings of the full Governing Body and it’s committees (minimum 14 meetings per year) which generally take place in the afternoon and/or early evenings. 

The role is equivalent to 156 hours per year which includes attendance at meetings and completing related paperwork and tasks. 

The role is term time only + 1 week inset, total -39 weeks per year.

PCD7: £28,598 pro rata for term time working/ad-hoc hours (hourly rate £14.82 inclusive of holiday pay)

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible classroom practitioners to join our bank of relief staff in our growing school team.

Our relief staff work on an ad-hoc basis when our permanent staff require cover. Sometimes requests are in advance but often work is at short notice to cover absence. Whilst flexibility is the key, we do understand that our relief team may have prior engagements – we respect this and always work in a mutually conducive way.
