Wetherlam

Wetherlam is a Key Stage 1 class within the Lakes Pathway and students transition here from the Early Years. A lot of learning takes place through continuous provision and purposeful play.

Students work within their own Personal Progression Pathways through Individual Education Plans and via themed work which is at the centre of their curriculum.  The children are supported to develop their communication and interpersonal skills alongside their problem solving.  We focus on the holistic development of each child in all areas.

Life skills are also focused on throughout our curriculum including the very important safety skills. This includes shopping, food technology, road safety, dressing and other self-care skills. Our aim is to help the children become much more independent within all areas. Wetherlam try to get out in the local community as much as possible, for example shopping, trips to the library, using local transport to name just a few of the things we enjoy.

In Wetherlam we like to make learning fun to ensure that the children enjoy themselves and love coming to school!
