Robinson
Robinson class is a mixed key stage MEADOWS pathway class. Robinson class encompasses a non-subject specific personalised sensory curriculum for our PMLD learners here at Sandgate.
The three focal points of our informal curriculum are communication, physical development and cognition. We strive to deliver meaningful and engaging sessions for our learners, so that these 3 areas are improved and developed over time, alongside working towards an ever-developing student -centred curriculum to support our young people in their IEP targets and independence/life skills.
Community inclusion is another important aspect of Robinson class, we love for our students to be able to experience life outside of the classroom in the local community, we also bring the outside world into the classroom through experiential immersive themes such as “under the sea” and “to infinity and beyond.”
Our learners’ needs are placed at the forefront of the everyday running of the class, and we place great importance on creating the right learning environment for all of our students to grow and thrive.
The Robinson staff team work closely with the south lakes children’s community nurses, as well as with our on-site nurse and other health and social care professionals for relevant training and further support to provide the best care possible for our students.
